Last weekend, MIT hosted the 9th annual MIT Science Olympiad (MIT SciOly), an invitational tournament featuring sixty-seven high school teams from thirteen states -- one team was even from Hawaii! There were thirty-four events offered, ranging from Cell Biology to Forensics to Forestry, and there were both written exams and lab events.
This year was my high school’s first time competing in the SciOly, and I had a great day supporting my teammates, exploring the MIT campus, and, of course, enjoying science. Personally, I competed in the Chemistry Lab, Write It Do It, and Fermi Questions events, which were all engaging, interesting, and intellectually stimulating.
